Lurgan College got their Schools Cup qualifier campaign off to a superb start when they travelled to Carrick Grammar School.
Tries came from Jack McMichael, Pedro Melo, Ben Maxwell and Andrew Bird, and the 27-9 win means the college will play Ballyclare HS, Down HS and Regent in Group A of the Schools’ Cup.
The Medallions also played, losing 21-7 against RBAI B team, with some lessons and work-on’s being taken from the game
Portadown College put in several sterling performances against Enniskillen Royal Grammar. The 1XV ran out 15-7 winners while the 2XV won 15-12 but it was not to be, for the Medallion side who narrowly lost 14-19. Three very tight games and an excellent standard of rugby.
It was back to winning ways for Lurgan RFC 2XV who ran out eventual 26-19 winners against Lisburn 2XV at Pollock park last Saturday.
Meanwhile in Portadown the 1XV, 2XV & Academy squad enjoyed a weekend off, but the 3XV travelled to Dromore.
