Round up
It’s half-time in the big derby between Lurgan & Portadown and it is Portadown who are leading the charge.
Rugby schedules mean that both clubs play back-to-back fixtures, home & away in the run up to Christmas and last weekend it was Portadown who ran out eventual 20-10 winners over their neighbours Lurgan.
Bragging rights and valuable league points are still up for grabs as Portadown travel to Pollock Park this Saturday for what promises to be a titanic clash and Lurgan will be set on readdressing the deficit. The action kicks off at 14:30.
Lurgan 2XV were on the road to face Ballynahinch 4XV. It was the home side who took the spoils with 24 points to Lurgans 7.
Portadown College Senior squad rugby headed off to Portugal. 41 boys, a duck, and staff headed for five days to Browns in Villamoura.
Huge thanks to their sponsor JRL McMullen Manufacturing for their kind sponsorship of the tour kit for the players and staff.
Meanwhile the Portadown College 2XV earned a challenging 24-14 win over Larne Grammar in the Schools Trophy.
Banbridge 1XV had a tough weekend in the AIL when they went down 33-21 against Instonians. The 2XV had more success securing a narrow 27-30 win over Instonians 2XV. Meanwhile Banbridge 4XV had an impressive 49-21 win over Lisburn.
